The old corporate site

The briefing

Bayernhafen wanted to update its online experience to appeal to a broader audience. The goal was to develop a visual language that feels bold and familiar and breaks the typical restraint of the competition.

Card sorting

The old navigation structure was incredibly complex and cluttered. Therefore, in addition to a detailed card sorting as a cornerstone, I rebuilt the product with workshops.

With help of the results, the site's architecture was sharpened and went through several iterations. This allowed low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to be developed for usability testing.

Solr

To minimize clicks and make navigating even more enjoyable, I chose Apache's Solr. Key features include full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, real-time indexing, dynamic clustering, database integration, and comprehensive document management.
